Crabs have a particular way of walking backwards, so their ground shells have traditionally been used for works designed to reverse evil back from where it came. In addition, crab shells are hard and strong, so crab shell powder may also be used for protection, which reversing work can be considered a form of. Crab shell powder can also be used for antagonistic works, as someone who is ill-tempered is said to be "crabby," and, of course, crabs in a bucket will attack each other if they feel that one of their cohorts is getting ahead of them. So, crab shell powder is a rather versatile item to have in your witchy arsenal.

Crab shell powder is most easily and commonly employed when it is sprinkled in a counterclockwise (widdershins) fashion, around a black candle that has been placed on top of a mirror (as pictured). In this way, the negativity is removed from yourself and returned, in kind, to the sender.

Most crab shell powder you will find for sale is typically only crushed shells. What we offer here is a mixture of crab shell and crab meat which has been pulverized until powdery, making it easier to include with other powders and affix to candles, if one so desires.
